Port St. Lucie Metal Braces
Solid, Reliable Smile Treatment
At Desman Orthodontics, we offer advanced, modern metal braces to help you get the straighter, healthier smile you deserve.
Metal Braces for Modern Times
Metal braces are still a top choice for our patients in Port St. Lucie — and thanks to modern advancements in orthodontic technology, you don’t have to worry about wearing a noticeable mouthful of metal like your parents did.
Modern braces use smaller, more streamlined brackets and archwires that apply gentle pressure on your teeth to create your dream smile.
The Wonders of Metal Braces
Our modern metal braces are not just a rite of passage for teens, but also an avenue for adults to become confident of their smiles. Young or old, Dr. Desman can customize a unique set of braces just for you.
Let’s take a deep dive into five benefits of metal braces:
Versatile
Whether you have severe underbite or extremely crooked teeth, metal braces help correct these issues to straighten your teeth and give you a healthy, straight smile for a lifetime.
Durable
Metal braces are designed to handle the daily rigors of eating and brushing — so you don’t have to worry about breaking a wire or losing a bracket (so long as you avoid ea.
Secure
Since clear aligners are removable appliances, you can easily lose them. But metal braces are a fixed orthodontic appliance — meaning they won’t go anywhere, and you don’t have to worry about keeping up with them.
Stylish
Unlike clear aligners or even ceramic braces, you can personalize metal brackets with colored elastics to match your personality or a special occasion.
Whether you choose to show off your favorite color or represent your favorite characters or teams, your smile becomes an expression of who you are with colorful metal braces.
Cost Effective
Who says that getting a beautiful smile costs an arm or a leg? Not with metal braces. They’re usually covered by insurance plans and are cheaper than clear aligners and braces. This makes metal brackets a top choice for our patients in Port St. Lucie.
Kickstarting Your
Braces Journey
Getting your first metal braces can be exciting, especially if your goal is to have a better, more confident smile. Here’s how:
1. Consult Our Expert Smile Team
The first step always takes the most guts. Lucky for you, we offer a free consultation for our first-time patients.
During your consultation, Dr. Desman and his expert team will get to know your goals and expectations for the treatment. We’ll also determine if you need braces based on the pictures and X-rays of your mouth.
From these digital images, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan and discuss your payment options and insurance coverage.
2. Get Started On Your Same-Day Treatment
If you’re happy with our treatment plan, you can get your braces right after your initial consultation. After one to two hours, you’ll walk out of our office with a colorful smile on your face.
The slight pressure you feel on your teeth is normal. Don’t worry! This sensation will subside after a couple of days (and you can take over-the-counter medications to help you feel comfortable, too).
3. See Us for Your Adjustment
During your follow-up appointment, we’ll assess your teeth and jaw’s movement, adjust and tighten your braces, and answer questions about your treatment.
Because brace treatment lasts 12 to 24 months, seeing us on a regular basis ensures you’re on top of your smile journey.
Remember that skipping an appointment causes unwanted movement in teeth and poor oral hygiene, further delaying your treatment.
4. Transition to Retainers
After a year or two of wearing braces, you’ll meet your post-braces best friend: a pair of retainers.
Our custom retainers will prevent your teeth from moving to ensure your new smile lasts a lifetime.
